CAREERS
AI-related skills are becoming increasingly relevant across non-technology professions, with demand rising in areas such as finance, HR and teaching. At the same time, continued high-tech layoffs are encouraging affected workers to retrain and adapt to changing roles and employer requirements.
Demand for artificial intelligence skills is increasing across a range of professions outside the traditional technology sector, including finance, human resources and teaching. According to data presented by ALLJOBS career and recruitment vice president Liat Ben-Torah Shoshan, demand for AI-related skills has risen by as much as 267%.
The data, which compared the Hebrew year with the previous year, points to a growing role for AI in the labor market. Ben-Torah Shoshan said the increase is visible not only in technology-related positions but also across mid-tech and low-tech fields.
AI is also influencing what employers expect from candidates and how job seekers present their abilities. Job listings are increasingly mentioning AI-related requirements, while candidates are highlighting their familiarity with AI tools on their resumes.
The increase is particularly noticeable in roles such as accounting, bookkeeping and financial management, where employers are seeking greater proficiency with artificial intelligence tools. Ben-Torah Shoshan noted that the large percentage increases partly reflect the relatively low level of AI demand during the comparison periods.
At the same time, continued layoffs in the high-tech sector are prompting some workers to adjust their professional skills. Candidates affected by layoffs are undergoing training and learning tools relevant to changing job requirements.
The impact of AI is also extending beyond individual skills, with some professions changing in response to technological developments. The hardware sector, for example, has expanded alongside AI development, while more students are choosing engineering and electronics studies.
