A mega job fair held in Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam, on Saturday brought together nearly 100 companies and offered around 3,000 employment opportunities to local youth.
The event was organised to connect job seekers with employers and provide candidates from Gajuwaka and nearby areas with opportunities for direct recruitment.
TDP state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao said the participation of companies and job seekers had been encouraging. He said nearly 100 companies were taking part in the fair with around 3,000 employment opportunities available.
Rao said a similar job fair had been organised in the area around six months earlier and had also received a positive response from young job seekers.
According to Rao, the event was intended to address a gap between available jobs and suitable candidates. While companies often face difficulty finding the right people for available positions, qualified candidates may struggle to connect with employers offering suitable opportunities.
AP State SC Cell president Vijay Kumar said the NDA government was working towards creating employment opportunities for young people within Andhra Pradesh and reducing the need for them to move to other states for work.
He said the AP State Skill Development Corporation was providing local candidates in Gajuwaka with access to employment opportunities. He also referred to IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh's vision of strengthening employment opportunities within the state.
Organisers said the participation of numerous companies was aimed at giving candidates access to a wider range of employment options while helping employers identify suitable local talent.
The job fair also highlighted the importance of skill development and direct interaction between industry and candidates in improving employment opportunities for young people in the region.
