CSIR-National Physical Laboratory has announced recruitment for 20 Technician posts across various technical trades. The opportunity offers government employment with attractive pay and is open to candidates with ITI qualifications, apprenticeship training, or relevant work experience.
CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL), one of India’s premier scientific research institutions, has released its Technician (1) Recruitment 2026 notification, inviting applications for 20 vacancies across multiple technical disciplines.
The recruitment drive covers several trades including Electronics, Electrical, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA), Multimedia, Photographer, and Mechanic Motor Vehicle. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the prescribed offline process until June 30, 2026.
Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Level-02 of the government pay matrix, with a salary range of ₹19,900 to ₹63,200. The starting basic pay is ₹19,900, while the estimated monthly salary package, including allowances, is approximately ₹44,428.
To be eligible, applicants must be between 18 and 28 years of age as of June 30, 2026. Age relaxation benefits will be available to candidates belonging to reserved categories, including SC, ST, OBC (NCL), PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen, in accordance with government regulations.
Candidates should have passed Class 10 with at least 55% marks and possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade. Individuals who have completed apprenticeship training or possess three years of experience in the relevant trade may also qualify under the prescribed eligibility criteria.
The selection process will consist of application screening, a qualifying trade test, a written examination, and document verification. The written examination will assess candidates on mental ability, general awareness, English language skills, and technical knowledge related to their respective trades.
The recruitment examination has been structured into three papers. The first paper focuses on mental ability, while the second evaluates general awareness and English proficiency. The final paper will test candidates on their technical expertise in the trade for which they have applied.
Applicants must download the official application form from the CSIR-NPL website, complete all required details, attach supporting documents, passport-sized photographs, and the prescribed application fee where applicable.
Completed applications should be sent to the Senior Controller of Administration, CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, before the closing date. Candidates are advised to carefully review the official notification and ensure all eligibility requirements are met before submitting their applications.
