CAREERS
NSDC Academy has enrolled millions of learners since its launch, but placement numbers remain significantly lower than enrolment and certification figures. The data underscores ongoing challenges in converting skill development programmes into measurable employment outcomes.
Placement Numbers Trail Enrolment Figures
Public data from the NSDC Academy dashboard indicates that job placements remain well below enrolment levels across the platform's skilling programmes.
As of June 8, 2026, around 2.83 million candidates had enrolled through the academy. Of these, 660,586 candidates were reported as placed, resulting in a placement rate of approximately 23 per cent.
Progress Across Training Stages
The dashboard data shows a gradual decline in candidate numbers across different stages of the training process. Out of the total enrolments, about 2.4 million candidates completed training, 2.04 million underwent assessment, and 1.40 million achieved certification.
The figures suggest that not all enrolled learners complete certification requirements, while a sizeable number of certified candidates have not yet been recorded as placed through the platform.
Focus on Employment Outcomes
NSDC Academy was launched in 2023 to deliver industry-linked skilling and higher-education programmes through universities, colleges and training partners. The platform offers programmes across fields including digital skills, business and management, software, and emerging technologies.
As policymakers increasingly evaluate skilling initiatives based on employment generation, placement outcomes have become a key performance indicator. Parliamentary reviews of government skill-development programmes have also highlighted placements as an important measure of programme effectiveness.
Range of Programmes Offered
The academy provides certificate, diploma and degree-linked courses with durations ranging from short-term employability programmes lasting a few weeks to longer certification and skill-development courses extending over several months.
The data referenced reflects cumulative information available on the NSDC Academy dashboard as of June 8, 2026.
