CAREERS
More than 750 government positions are being made available to Emirati nationals across 34 public entities during the Ru’ya Careers UAE exhibition in Dubai. High-demand areas are pivoting sharply toward artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, AI ethics, and transport engineering for landmark infrastructure projects. In parallel, over 45,000 citizens have moved into the private sector this year, lifting the total number of Emiratis employed across private enterprises past 190,000.
Dubai government departments and private employers have opened major recruitment pipelines for UAE nationals at Ru’ya, Careers UAE 2026, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme “Ready for What’s Next? The Future of Work.”
Coordinated through the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR), 34 public sector entities are presenting more than 750 vacancies. The career exhibition, opened by Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, gathers over 150 employers representing 23 industry sectors.
Emerging Tech & Strategic Infrastructure Demands Recruiters participating in the drive identified seven critical growth disciplines dominating upcoming employment requisitions:
- Data Analysts
- Artificial Intelligence Specialists & AI Partners
- Cloud Computing Engineers
- Digital Infrastructure Architects
- AI Ethics Specialists
- Transport & Civil Engineers connected to mega-infrastructure projects
Key municipal authorities have rolled out dedicated quotas. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is offering 215 posts—including 100 entry-level roles for fresh graduates, 115 mid-to-senior professional tracks, and 55 slots under its Future Makers initiative. The technical pipeline aims to staff major mobility developments, including the Dubai Metro Blue Line, Gold Line, Dubai Loop, and commercial air taxi infrastructure. Emiratis currently comprise roughly 54% of RTA’s workforce and up to 64% of its specialized engineering posts.
Similarly, Dubai Municipality opened 73 positions spanning inspection, engineering, and expanding AI and data analytics roles, where national representation stands at 57.5%.
"The role of human resources went beyond matching talent with vacancies and should include creating an environment that supports the development of Emirati professionals and sustained career progression."
Upgraded Digital Matching & Nafis Milestones The Emirati Human Resources Development Council opened registration on its newly enhanced employment platform, serving around 38,000 registered nationals. Integrated with UAE Pass, the system applies AI to review resumes, recommend targeted upskilling, and automatically calculate commute distances between applicants' homes and open job sites.
Parallel figures released by the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis) highlighted substantial private-market absorption:
- 45,000+ UAE nationals joined private-sector companies since the start of the year.
- 190,000+ total citizens now work in the private domain across 32,000+ participating establishments.
- 172,000 individuals placed through Nafis since its 2021 inception remain actively employed in the private and banking sectors.
