AI-driven growth is creating new hiring opportunities at several fintech firms in Singapore rather than simply replacing jobs. Companies are increasingly seeking skilled professionals who can combine strong domain knowledge, critical thinking and adaptability with the effective use of AI.
Several fintech companies in Singapore are increasing their workforce as artificial intelligence helps drive business growth, product development and operational efficiency.
Airwallex plans to expand its Singapore workforce by more than 70% year on year, with its headcount expected to reach nearly 800 by the end of 2026. The company currently has close to 700 full-time employees and is hiring mainly for roles in product, engineering, design, operations management, sales and finance.
Singapore is also a key location for Airwallex's development of customer-facing AI products, including agentic wallets that allow AI agents to make purchases for users within predefined rules. The company is also developing internal AI tools aimed at improving productivity and efficiency. Airwallex reported a 107% increase in Singapore revenue during the 2025 financial year, marking its second consecutive year of triple-digit growth.
Revolut Singapore is also expanding its team. Its workforce grew by 95% between 2024 and 2025, and the company aims to employ more than 300 people in the next three years, compared with its current headcount of 168. Available roles include positions in product, design, risk, compliance and audit.
The company's growth comes alongside an expansion in its customer base and transaction activity in Singapore during 2025. Revolut said AI is becoming increasingly integrated into product development, customer service and business operations, rather than being used as a separate tool.
According to the company, automation can reduce time spent on routine and administrative work, allowing employees to focus on tasks that require judgment, creativity, problem-solving and specialist knowledge. This increased capacity can also create demand for more skilled workers.
YouTrip is following a similar path, with hiring taking place across product, engineering, finance and other functions. The company has around 150 employees in Singapore and expects to increase its workforce by at least 10% by the end of the year.
The company views AI as a way to increase the capacity of individuals and teams rather than reduce the size of its workforce. Time saved through the automation of routine analytical and administrative work has been redirected towards product development and new customer offerings.
As AI becomes more widely used across fintech operations, companies are also placing greater emphasis on candidates with strong domain knowledge, critical-thinking abilities, adaptability and problem-solving skills. The firms said human judgment, creativity and the ability to use AI effectively remain important as job roles continue to evolve.
