TCS is strengthening its AI strategy through a new alliance with Anthropic. The collaboration includes training thousands of employees on Claude and developing AI offerings for industries with strict regulatory requirements.
TCS teams up with Anthropic to accelerate enterprise AI adoption
India's largest IT services exporter, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has entered into a partnership with Anthropic focused on expanding enterprise use of artificial intelligence.
As part of the collaboration, TCS plans to provide 50,000 employees access to Anthropic's Claude AI platform. The two companies will also work together to bring AI-based solutions to organizations operating in highly regulated sectors.
The announcement comes as India's technology services industry faces increasing attention from investors over the impact of AI on traditional outsourcing models. Earlier this year, Anthropic introduced an AI agent tool that contributed to concerns about how automation could reshape the sector.
TCS Chairman N. Chandrasekaran recently said the company expects hiring across the IT industry to slow as businesses adopt more AI-driven capabilities. He also indicated that TCS is moving toward a future workforce model that includes a balance between human employees and AI agents.
The company reduced its workforce by more than 12,000 jobs last year, while overall headcount declined by more than 23,000 during the fiscal year ending March 2026.
The move follows a similar partnership announced by Infosys with Anthropic in February.
