NIIT and SPJIMR have launched a FinTech Operations certificate focused on preparing learners for non-coding roles across digital financial services. The program combines financial-services knowledge with practical exposure to APIs, AI tools, FinTech platforms and key BFSI operations.
NIIT Limited and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) have introduced a Professional Certificate in FinTech Operations aimed at preparing students, graduates and early-career professionals for opportunities within India's digital financial services sector.
The program is intended primarily for final-year students and graduates from Commerce, Finance and Management backgrounds. Professionals in the BFSI sector can also participate to develop their understanding of technology-enabled financial services and strengthen their modern finance-related skills.
The certificate follows a non-coding approach to FinTech and digital financial services. Learners will develop technology fluency by working with APIs, AI tools and FinTech platforms from business and operations perspectives, without requiring programming skills.
The program comes as India's BFSI industry continues to move toward increasingly digital and technology-driven financial services. An Adecco India report cited in the announcement projects that the sector could add nearly 2.5 lakh permanent jobs by 2030, with around 48% of new positions expected to come from Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
The curriculum covers a range of FinTech and BFSI functions, including payments operations, KYC/AML, credit operations, digital banking, transaction monitoring, compliance, business analysis and product operations.
Participants will also undertake practical projects covering areas such as KYC onboarding, payment reconciliation and loan processing. Capstone options include operations excellence, product support and business analysis.
The launch also comes as technologies such as AI continue to influence areas including financial operations, risk management, compliance and customer experience. These developments were among the subjects discussed at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, which explored technologies including Agentic AI, tokenisation and quantum computing and their potential role in the future of finance.
